Sixto Carlos Escoda Roxas "Butch"
After beginning my musical journey on the electric guitar, I eventually transitioned to the Classical Guitar and enrolled in the Schola Cantorum in Paris. Upon returning to Manila, I continued my education at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, obtaining several degrees. Throughout my career, I have performed in countless concerts and taken part in numerous master classes including a scholarship to study under Josep Enriquez in Barcelona. I have a versatile playing style, frequently switching between the nylon string and electric guitar while exploring a wide range of musical genres.
I am now in the process of compiling a collection of compositions ranging from social commentaries to personal stories, many of which i started in my middle school years. The project is divided into three phases the first of which is songwriting. The second are compositions in study of my favorite musical forms and styles such as Sambas, Milongas, Danzas, including Classical Fugues and Valses. The last phase will be studies on improvisation along the idioms of Jazz Fusion , Folk and Americana.
